Pilok-E-Tong

“Pilok” comes from the word “Phi Lok” which comes from the deaths from the massacre and jungle fever. In particular, during the opening of the mine, there was a clash between Thai police and Burmese workers because the Thai side forbade Burmese workers from selling minerals to the British. However, the Burmese workers defied the law, so there was a clash that resulted in many injuries and deaths. However, later the Burmese people mispronounced it as “Pilok”, which later became the name of the sub-district. The weather here is cool and refreshing all year round.
