I visited on a winter morning, and the mild temperatures made it the perfect time to enjoy the desert's tranquility. One of the most impressive trails was the Moonlight Trail. It's an easy route for beginners, and the sight of giant saguaro cacti lining the path is truly a spectacular Arizona landscape. During the hike, you might spot lizards and rabbits, and if you're lucky, you might even see a roadrunner. Additionally, the sunset view from the park's high point was breathtaking. The contrast between the sprawling cityscape of Phoenix in the distance and the red-tinted mountains was stunning. The park's low tourist numbers and the ability to quietly enjoy nature were also appealing. Transportation Access San Tan Mountain Regional Park is about an hour's drive from Phoenix. There is no public transportation, so renting a car is convenient.
