Pisa 5 Days Itinerary

Just got back from an incredible 5-day adventure through Pisa and Florence, and I'm already dreaming of going back! For anyone thinking of visiting, here's how I'd suggest you plan your trip, based on my amazing experience: Day 1: Pisa - Leaning into the Charm I arrived in Pisa and headed straight for the Campo dei Miracoli – it's truly breathtaking in person. Of course, I did the classic leaning tower photo op (no regrets!), but I also spent a good amount of time just soaking in the atmosphere, wandering around the Duomo, and exploring the Baptistery. I loved grabbing a casual dinner nearby and just watching the world go by. Day 2: Pisa - Beyond the Tower There's more to Pisa than just the tower! I decided to explore the charming streets of Pisa, crossed the Arno River, and visited the Knights' Square (Piazza dei Cavalieri). I also found a fantastic gelato place that I kept going back to! In the afternoon, I hopped on a train to Florence – it was super easy and a great way to transition. Day 3: Florence - Renaissance Immersion Florence immediately stole my heart. My first day was all about the icons: I started at the Duomo, just marveling at its scale, then wandered through Piazza della Signoria, admiring the sculptures. I made sure to walk across the Ponte Vecchio – even with the crowds, it's so picturesque. I ended the day with a delicious Florentine steak dinner, which was an absolute highlight! Day 4: Florence - Art & Views I dedicated today to art. The Uffizi Gallery was incredible; seeing masterpieces like Botticelli's 'Birth of Venus' in person was mind-blowing. Pre-booking my tickets was a game-changer and saved so much time. Later, I took the walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo for sunset – the panoramic views of Florence are simply unforgettable. It was the perfect way to end a day of beauty. Day 5: Florence - Markets & Last Bites My last day was all about soaking in the local life. I loved exploring the San Lorenzo Market, Browse for leather goods and souvenirs. The Mercato Centrale for lunch was an experience in itself – so many delicious food stalls! I spent my final afternoon just wandering the Oltrarno district, popping into artisan shops, and enjoying one last Florentine coffee. It was the perfect blend of exploration and relaxation before heading home. I truly fell in love with both cities, and this itinerary allowed me to see the highlights while still having time to just be there. Highly recommend it!#pisatower #italy #travel
