[Food Review｜Portree] PROTEE The Lower Deck: A popular restaurant in a small harbor

#AprilGoodDestinations2025 #U.K Arriving at Portree, a small harbor in the Scottish Highlands, the first thing that came to my mind was: “I must eat seafood!” I found the highly rated PROTEE The Lower Deck on the map. It’s a small restaurant hidden by the pier, but I didn’t expect it to be the most surprising meal of the trip. The restaurant is not big and the seats are limited. It is strongly recommended to queue up before the store opens. We were lucky that day as we arrived just before the restaurant opened and were seated smoothly. But when we walked out after eating, there were already people queuing outside in the rain, which shows how popular it is! We ordered the soup, scallops with vegetables, and a pot of mussels with the chef's special sauce. That pot of mussels is really amazing! The sauce combines elements such as soy sauce, honey, and ginger, and has a subtle oriental flavor that not only brings out the sweetness of the clams, but also makes the overall layering very rich. This is the most special and unforgettable pot of mussels I have ever eaten. Although the space is small, the atmosphere is warm and the staff are friendly and will recommend dishes. The overall rhythm is well controlled, even if there are many people, you won't have to wait too long.
