Putian: Xinghua Prefecture Historical and Cultural District: Spanning a Millennium to Continue the Cultural Vein

The Xinghua Prefecture Historical and Cultural District is located in Putian City, Fujian Province, and is the core component of Putian's historical and cultural fame. Putian City has a long history and profound culture, with rich historical and cultural heritage, and is known as 'the Zou Lu by the sea, a famous state for literature'. As a core part of Putian's historical and cultural fame, the Xinghua Prefecture Historical and Cultural District, with a 1400-year history of establishment, embodies the local characteristics of imperial examination culture, folk culture, and national culture, and is a historical witness to the urban development and the changing of eras in Putian. As the hometown of successful imperial examinees, the Xinghua Prefecture District alone has produced more than 260 successful imperial examinees, including Chen Jingbang, the Ming Dynasty Minister of the Ministry of Revenue, and Lin Yangzu, the Qing Dynasty Governor of Shaanxi and Gansu, as well as two first-rank officials, eight second-rank officials, and fourteen third-rank officials.
