Regardless of your religious beliefs, this is a space where anyone can find healing, making it an ideal quiet start to your trip.🩷 After descending Daegwallyeong, it's time to taste Pyeongchang's signature dish, buckwheat noodles! 'Yucheon Makguksu,' a Blue Ribbon-certified restaurant, is famous for its refreshing broth, handmade buckwheat noodles, and savory soy sauce-based broth. Both the bibim (spicy mixed) and mul (cold soup) versions of makguksu are popular, and when paired with the accompanying fresh kimchi, the flavors are even more delightful. The prices are reasonable, and the quick turnover means you won't have to wait long. We made a reservation through CatchTable and arrived right on time, avoiding any waiting. After your meal, head to Pyeongchang's iconic healing spot, 'Daegwallyeong Sheep Ranch.' Here, you can interact with sheep grazing freely on the vast meadow and even experience feeding them hay. From the entrance, you can see the sheep up close, and on sunny days, a walk along the trails around the ranch is highly recommended. The experience takes about an hour, and if you book through Naver in advance, you can enjoy discounts and feeding experiences. Note that there are no cafes or restaurants within the ranch, so it's a good idea to bring some snacks. End your trip at Bongpyeong's 'Lee Hyo-seok Literature Museum.' Dedicated to the life and literary world of Lee Hyo-seok, the author of the novel "When Buckwheat Flowers Bloom," this museum features exhibits that follow the flow of time, including actual buckwheat fields, a model of the old Bongpyeong market, and various literary materials. With spaces like exhibition halls, creative rooms, buckwheat resource rooms, and literary gardens, you can experience both literature and nature. Seasonal literary lectures and hands-on activities are also held here. The scenery is especially stunning in August and September when the buckwheat flowers are in full bloom.
