Please confirm opening hours before visiting. 💰Tickets: Free 🌟Highlights: Taiping Shanfang, also known as “Jude Hall,” was originally the Chen family ancestral hall. Built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty by Chen Xin (first name Xi, courtesy name Mengxian, also known as Jishan), it is a typical Jiangnan ancestral hall and one of the largest in southern Anhui. Taiping Shanfang is rectangular, facing south, with five bays spanning 15 m and a depth of 71 m across three halls, covering an area of over 1,100 sq m. It features a three-hall, six-ridge brick and wood structure. As a former school building, Taiping Shanfang holds valuable insights into ancient education and the imperial examination system. Taiping Shanfang served as a campsite for the headquarters of the Red Army's Northward Anti-Japanese Advance Detachment, imbuing it with revolutionary significance. On December 17, 1934, the Red Army's Northward Anti-Japanese Advance Detachment marched north along the Tunxi-Qingyang highway and set up camp in Suocun, Lingyang Town. The headquarters were located in Taiping Shanfang, and Fang Zhimin stayed at Chen Xianqing's house. On March 5, 2013, Taiping Shanfang was designated as a National Key Cultural Relic Preservation Site by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. 📌Tips: Parking is available in front of the attraction.
