Built in 686 CE, the main existing buildings of Kaiyuan Temple were reconstructed by Zheng Zhilong in the late Ming Dynasty. As the cultural highlight of Quanzhou travel, the temple's cultural relics and history are beyond description, with every brick and tile engraved with traces of time. Travel Routes: Route 1: Mountain Gate (Hall of Heavenly Kings) > Worship Pavilion > Mahavira Hall > Ganlu Ordination Platform > Scripture Library > East and West Pagodas > Master Hong Yi Memorial Hall. Route 2: Enter from West Street entrance, first visit the East and West Pagodas, then tour the Mahavira Hall, Ganlu Ordination Platform, Hall of Heavenly Kings, and finally the Master Hong Yi Memorial Hall. Main Attractions: Hall of Heavenly Kings: The main entrance of Kaiyuan Temple, featuring the plaque "Great Kaiyuan Longevity Chan Temple" and couplets written by Master Hong Yi. Mahavira Hall: The most important building in the temple, known as the "Hall of Hundred Pillars" with 24 flying apsaras. Ganlu Ordination Platform: One of China's three existing ordination platforms, surrounded by 24 wooden carved flying apsaras. East and West Pagodas: The temple's iconic structures, known as Zhenguo Pagoda and Renshou Pagoda, are the tallest pair of stone pagodas existing in China.
