Daoyunlou Railway Station, Raoping County, Chaozhou Province

The Teochew Tulou octagonal earthen building is ranked as the largest earthen building discovered in China. It is famous for being “ancient, large, strange and beautiful”. The building plan is built in the shape of 3 stacked octagons. The innermost and middle circles are single-story wooden buildings. The outer circles are three-story wooden buildings. The outermost is an exposed brick wall. In the past, during its heyday, there were more than 100 families living there, with more than 600 people. It is currently open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The entrance fee is 10 CNY.
