[Hokkaido] The legendary Kamui Whisky

We went to see the whiskey distillery that American entrepreneur Casey Wall decided to start after seeing the richness of nature and water on Rishiri Island while sightseeing. Kamui Whisky will be the northernmost distillery in Japan, which will open in 2022. On June 23, 2023, the first festival was held, where raw liquor was also sold by lottery. It was a rare opportunity to sample raw liquor before aging. The KAMUI on the entire wall of the distillery was completed just before the festival. A staff member told us that they had just finished painting it. The raw liquor won a bronze medal in a whiskey competition.
