#VisitKanchanaburi Relive the history of World War II at the Hellfire Pass Museum, Kanchanaburi Hellfire Pass, also known as "Hellfire Pass", was named after the prisoners who worked at night had to light torches and build fires while working. When the light reflected the shadows of people, it made the shadows flicker like the flames of hell. "Hellfire Pass" is part of the Thai-Burma Railway. It is a railway that cuts through the mountains. 🛤️ The excavation began in April 1943, but there were delays, so the work had to be rushed. Each shift of workers had to work up to 18 hours. Most of them used manual labor, such as cutting the mountain by hand in brutal conditions. They had to climb down to cut through the canyon, some parts as high as 11 meters. In the hot weather and lack of water, food, and medical equipment, many prisoners of war and laborers died here. Currently, it has been built as the Hellfire Pass Memorial to honor the prisoners of war during World War II. Anyone who visits Kanchanaburi should not miss it.
