Phra That Chedi Chum Worawihan, Sakon Nakhon Province

Phra That Chedi Chum, a sacred place of worship in Sakon Nakhon, is located at Wat Phra That Chedi Chum Worawihan. The chedi was built to cover the footprints of four Buddhas. Inside the chapel, there is also the enshrined Luang Pho Phra Ong Saen, a beautiful Chiang Saen-style Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude. The chedi faces Nong Han to the east. It is a square brick and mortar chedi, about 24 meters high. The base is square, and the upper part is a square lotus shape with no decorative patterns. At the base of the chedi, there are four doorways. The golden umbrella spire above Phra That Chedi Chum is made of pure gold and weighs 247 baht. The doorway spire looks like a castle spire. The inside is solid and made of laterite and red sandstone. There are Khmer-style false doorways on the north, south and west sides.
