Phra That Chedi Chum Worawihan Temple, Sakon Nakhon Province

Phra That Chedi Chum is a sacred pagoda of Sakon Nakhon. 🙏The pagoda is a brick and mortar pagoda with a square base 24 meters high. The upper part is a lotus shape with no decorative patterns. The golden umbrella above the pagoda is made of pure gold weighing 247 baht. There are four gates. The gate tops are like castle tops. The inside is solid and made of laterite and red sandstone. There are fake Khmer-style gates on the north, south and west sides. The real entrance gate is on the east side. 🙏The pagoda is built to cover the footprints of four Buddhas. It is assumed that Phra That Chedi Chum was originally a Khmer sandstone castle. However, the current pagoda is in Lan Xang art because the pagoda has been renovated. 🙏In the chapel near Phra That Chedi Chum, there is Luang Pho Phra Ong Saen, a stucco Buddha image covered in gold leaf in the Mara-Vijaya attitude in the Chiang Saen style. It is enshrined on a pedestal base. The base is 1.35 meters high. The lap of the Buddha is 2 meters wide. From the lap to the top of the head is 3.2 meters high. ⛲️The sacred well is a well that came with Phra That Chedi Chum. Originally, there was a spring because it was the end of an underground river that flowed from the Phu Phan mountain range and flowed here.
