Ashokaram Temple, pay homage to Father Lee

Wat Ashokaram is located in Bang Pu Municipality, Soi 60, Sukhumvit Old Road, Tambon Tai Ban, 6 kilometers from the city center (about 1 kilometer from Sukhumvit Road). It was built on May 8, 1962 by the Thammayut sect by Phra Sutthithammarangsri Kamphimethachan (Phra Ajahn Lee Thammatharo). It is an important temple and a place for Vipassana meditation. There are many interesting things to see, such as Phra Thutangk Chedi, a group of 13 chedis, each enshrining the relics of the Lord Buddha, as a reminder of the 13 ascetic practices, and Wisutthithammarangsri Wihan, a three-story, four-sided building with the top part being a pavilion enshrining the relics of the Lord Buddha.
