It is an ancient temple that is more than 400 years old. It is estimated that it was built since Ayutthaya during the reign of King Maha Chakkraphat. The original name of the temple was given by King Rama V as Wat Yai Sakhon Buri, and he also granted the Tripitaka and elevated it to a royal temple. However, the name was later changed to Wat Yai Chom Prasat. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 The highlight of this temple is the ordination hall, which has four layers of wooden doors carved deep into the wood, making it look like a three-dimensional image that is very beautiful and exquisite. One door is carved with a pattern of vines, flowers, leaves, and animals, while the other door is carved into the shape of a Chinese pine forest, which looks like a nipa palm and a coconut tree. Inside the ordination hall, there is a Buddha statue that is an art form from the early Rattanakosin period.
