Must visit in San Juan

Castillo San Felipe del Morro is a must visit in San Juan , with breathtaking ocean views — especially at sunset. When you buy admission, you also get access to Castillo San Cristóbal, which you should definitely check out too — it’s a must-see. The walk between the two, no matter which way you go, is through Old San Juan, where there’s so much art, cool restaurants, and little surprises — I even saw a painted artistic basketball court on the way over. The strong sea breeze in front of the castle makes it a perfect spot for kite flying, and the sky is often filled with colorful kites. You self-explore the castle — the architecture is great, but honestly, the view and the wild proximity to the ocean are the main event. You can go many flights down — it’s super windy and insanely gorgeous. Watching the sunset in front of El Morro — words and pictures couldn’t capture it. Heads up: there are lots of stairs, and it’s a huge, multi-level fortress, so bring water and wear good walking shoes.
