A DAY OUTING IN SEKINCHAN PADI FIELD

#wheretogo Sekinchan is a small town located about 1 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. It is famous for its landscape of paddy fields and sumptuous of seafoods. It was an impromptu visit with buddies after a breakfast in Kuala Lumpur as the weather was great that day. So we car pool all the way to Sekinchan. We went in Dec, and it wasn't actually the best month to visit the paddy field as the harvest season has just passed. Nevertheless, we just try our luck and it turned out to be a great outing. The started with strolling around the padi field in a rented rickshaw bike. Then we stopover to the Paddy Gallery. This place is definitely worth the visit. It is a rice processing factory + gallery + museum where visitors get to learn everything about the life cycle of paddy from the seeds to the rice we eat. It also showcased the evolution of paddy plantation. At the end, visitors can also purchase ready packed rice there. Besides the gallery, visitor can also visit a Chinese temple nearby. Oh, don't forget to get yourself a nice icy coconut "float" (with ice cream), perfect drink under the blazing sun!
