Nyuto onsen: secret village

Kuroyu Onsen is one of the 7 Onsen located in the mysterious Onsen village Nyuto Onsen. Nyuto Onsen is a village hidden in the Towada-Hachimantai National Park in Akita, Japan. To get to this mysterious village, you have to drive your own car. The road is winding and surrounded by mountains, making it difficult to access. This makes it quiet and there are few foreign tourists. Kuroyu Onsen is famous for making Onsen eggs. The water contains sulphur, which makes the boiled eggs black. Another famous thing about this village is that it has an outdoor Onsen bath where you can see a beautiful sunset. It is also a mixed bath (konyuku), which is very rare in Japan these days. The hotel has free parking, but you have to carry your luggage down the stairs yourself, which is quite far. Some of the receptionists can understand English. The building is a black wooden building that looks very old, like you have wandered into the Edo period. The rooms are shabby and old, but clean. There are 3 small indoor Onsen baths and 5 outdoor baths. I didn't try the mixed bath because they didn't allow you to wear a towel. Dinner is a kaiseki set, Japanese food, delicious, lots of food, very full Breakfast also comes as a set, Japanese food, delicious Because the road is a winding mountain, heavy snowfall, making it inconvenient to travel to stay. This village is closed from mid-November to mid-April every year. In October, the autumn leaves are very beautiful. Soak in the hot spring amidst the view of red leaves. Come in early November, the sky gets dark very early, the weather is cold. The hot spring water is milky white, very hot, it is real hot spring water, with a sulphur smell.
