【Sendai】Zuihoden and Sendai Castle Ruins.

Sendai Castle Ruins (Aoba Castle Site) Since it is far from the city of Sendai, we visited by car. The statue of Masamune Date is impressive! Because it is located on a hill, the view is spectacular. After that, we went to Zuihoden (the mausoleum of Masamune Date, the founder of the Sendai Domain). The mausoleum of Masamune Date is splendid. Before it was destroyed by fire, Zuihoden was designated as a national treasure as a mausoleum building in the Momoyama style from the early Edo period. The current Zuihoden was rebuilt in 1979 using modern construction methods. But it is so vivid and beautiful that it doesn't matter. I visited in autumn, so I want to visit in spring next time!
