Exploring Politics and Culture in Seoul: A Tour of the National Assembly Building

Day 1: In the early morning, I arrived in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. My first stop was the National Assembly Building located in Yeouido. This grand structure is not only the heart of Korean politics but also a symbol of the intersection between history and modernity. As I approached the National Assembly Building, the massive dome and imposing exterior exuded a sense of solemnity. I joined a guided tour where the guide provided detailed explanations of the legislative process and historical background of South Korea. During the tour, I had the privilege of entering the conference hall, feeling the tense atmosphere where every member discusses national affairs. The walls of the conference hall were adorned with historical photos of past assemblies, giving me a deeper understanding of the evolution of Korean politics. After lunch, I strolled through the park surrounding the National Assembly Building. The lush greenery and winding paths made it a popular spot for locals to exercise and relax. The sculptures and fountains in the park added vibrancy, prompting me to pause and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. In the evening, I went to the Han River in Yeouido. The river, under the setting sun, and the distant city skyline created a perfect ending to my fulfilling day. Day 2: On the second day, I chose to delve deeper into the culture and history of Seoul. In the morning, I visited Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the most famous palaces in Korea. Walking through the palace gates, I felt as if I had traveled back in time, witnessing the splendor and grandeur of the ancient dynasty. Here, I participated in the changing of the guard ceremony, experiencing the charm of traditional culture. Then, I went to Bukchon Hanok Village, wandering through the well-preserved traditional Korean houses and appreciating the blend of ancient architecture and contemporary art.
