Trapped by work and daily life, I increasingly yearn for more time to experience nature. Apart from enjoying cherry blossoms in spring and apricot trees in autumn, my favorite way is to walk into the scenery, empty my mind in a moment that belongs only to myself, and absorb the energy of nature. If you want to avoid crowds but are limited by time, why not spend an afternoon on a bamboo raft in Changxing Island Country Park, swaying through the spring greenery and feeling like you're in Jiangnan while still in Shanghai. The bamboo rafting project takes less than an hour in total, and will shuttle through the park's forests along the water surface. Along the way, you will pass many arched bridges named after the 24 solar terms, which make for great photo opportunities. The bamboo raft is electrically powered, not manually rowed by boatmen, but personally I don't think it affects the experience.
