The Sheraton Four Points redefines luxury at the outskirts of Shanghai

The hotel officially opened on May 18, 2024. It is the first Marriott International brand hotel in the Jinshan area of Shanghai and also the first international brand hotel in the historic and cultural town of Fengjing. This French chateau-style building encompasses all the designer's tributes to French culture: tall Ionic columns, Haussmann-style rooftops, sculptures in the symmetrical gardens... The hotel, built around a lake, is surrounded by the charming scenery of the Jiangnan region. Even before entering the hotel, one is deeply attracted by the landscape at the main entrance, which combines cascading water, sculptures, and lawns. The 'Joy Fish·School of Fish Chasing the Sun' sculpture, with its theme of a school of fish, enhances the liveliness of the sculpture with colorful leaping fish, symbolizing continuous prosperity and growth. Nearby, the crane sculptures on the lawn, either resting in ease or poised to take flight, combined with artistic expression and elements like plant branches and flowers, create a scene at every step, fostering a peaceful, tranquil, and beautiful artistic atmosphere. The first thing that catches the eye as the hotel doors slowly open is a giant chandelier created by the artist Aqua Creations, whose sculptural form shines like a radiant blue gem. Moreover, the design of the chandelier draws inspiration from Fengjing's local intangible cultural heritage—the art of tie-dye, handcrafted with natural hues and a gentle texture to provide guests with a unique visual experience. The background wall of the hotel's reception area draws inspiration from the map of Fengjing, expressing the texture and outline of the ancient town with a simple black and white design based on the local water network terrain. Upon closer inspection, it is easy to find the exact location of the hotel. At the entrance to the hotel's elevator lobby, the black volcanic stone walls are appropriately adorned with bright red flowers; the radial pathways lead to various parts of the hotel, such as the restaurant, lobby, and elevator hall, much like the road planning and design of Paris. Also on the first floor of the hotel, the corridor leading to the banquet hall is full of artistic decorations, such as the entire wall of bright red raw stone, which serves as an excellent photo backdrop. The solid wood carving art installation, using one of Fengjing's four treasures—the top scholar cake—as a shape element, is re-created with modern craftsmanship, reflecting a unique Chinese style atmosphere in the hotel space. The hotel has 220 comfortable rooms and suites, three distinct restaurants and bars, and an indoor heated pool of nearly 200 square meters, where guests can enjoy a relaxed, familiar, and straightforward environment created by the hotel. Some rooms also feature French carved balconies. Therefore, for guests staying at the hotel, coffee must be held in hand while standing on the balcony overlooking the lake view, slowly enjoying the lazy 'French' moments. In other space designs, an elegant natural color palette is used to create a unique base color for Fengjing, which is then integrated with the rejuvenation concept of Sheraton Four Points, presenting a unique self-style of the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Fengjing, Shanghai.
