Designed by Robin Carter with the concept of a "Modern Book Gallery," Kimpton Qiantan Hotel Shanghai blends Shanghai-style Shikumen elements with contemporary minimalist aesthetics. The lobby features a suspended book wall installation displaying 3,000 rare volumes, complemented by holographic projections showcasing historical pages of "Shen Bao." Guest rooms incorporate rotating glass partitions for seamless transitions between work and relaxation modes, while the custom minibar includes AI-powered book recommendations. The rooftop "Cloud Reading Room" hosts a writer-in-residence program and monthly immersive literary salons, where participants can wear custom cheongsams for script readings. The underground pool recreates the Bund's architectural silhouette with glazed bricks, with nighttime light projections mimicking reflections along the Huangpu River. Awarded the "Design Anthology" Cultural Space of the Year in its opening month, the hotel has garnered over 200 million social media impressions.
