Most of my activities this time were in Guangming District, which is outside the city center. I checked and found no suitable international chain hotels, so my colleague recommended this Grand Mercure Hotel. The hotel is located in the CBD of Guangming District, which is the best location in this district. Grand Mercure was acquired by Huazhu from the French Accor Group, and is positioned as a high-end brand within Huazhu to improve its product line layout. Objectively speaking, there is still a gap between this hotel and a standard 5-star hotel. The public area facilities are mainly practical and simple, and the swimming pool is only outdoors with no indoor heated pool. Of course, providing public area laundry service may be a feature of this level of hotel, but I don't know how many guests really dare to use public laundry equipment. Overall, it is similar to the Courtyard series under Marriott. The room is not small, and the decor is simple and fresh. The hotel has not been open for long, so the facilities are still relatively new. The bathroom is also a good size, but the bedding is obviously not as comfortable as Hilton, IHG, and other hotels of the same level, and there is no executive lounge. There is an airport lounge next to the hotel, with buses to the airport every hour. If your flight time is suitable, it is convenient. Since it is located outside the city center, it is not very convenient to go to the city center. It takes about an hour to get to Nanshan and more than an hour and a half to get to Luohu.
