[Suwa Taisha Shimosha Harumiya/Nagano Prefecture] The oldest stone structure at Suwa Taisha: the large granite torii gate

Suwa Taisha Shimosha Harumiya in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Suwa Taisha has four shrines: Kamisha Honmiya and Maemiya, Shimosha Harumiya and Akimiya. The large granite torii gate at the entrance to the shrine grounds is estimated to have been built in 1659, making it the oldest stone structure at Suwa Taisha. It is also said to have been made by the same person who made the stone Buddha statues at Manji. The Kagura Hall is in front. It was built during the Tenpo era (1681-1684), and like the Akimiya, it has a large shimenawa rope. Behind it is the same haiden (offering offering hall).
