Monument related to Ryoma

The Wild Wave, which Ryoma purchased from Glover in Nagasaki, was lost in a violent storm. Upon hearing the news, Ryoma, who was recuperating in Kagoshima from injuries sustained in the Teradaya Incident, is said to have rushed to this site and requested the erection of a memorial. [Goto Prayer Statue of Ryoma] Twelve of his comrades, whom Ryoma loved like younger brothers, were lost at sea at a young age. The statue of Ryoma that stands here is said to be praying while gazing at the place where they were lost, with the intention of praying for the souls of their comrades. #Goto Islands
