[Iwate Prefecture] A carpet of autumn leaves in Mutsu! Mt. Mitsuishi

Mt. Mitsuishi is located in the direction of Hachimantai City, Iwate Prefecture, at an altitude of 1,466m. It has been selected as one of the 100 famous mountains in the Tohoku region, and in the autumn foliage season, it displays beautiful autumn foliage comparable to that of Mt. Kurikoma in Miyagi. There is a mountain hut at an altitude of about 1,300m, so you can take a lunch break. There are also toilets. The area around the mountain hut is a high-altitude marsh, so you can enjoy the autumn leaves. The course distance is not that long, but the ups and downs and the muddy mountain trail are more intense than you can imagine, and it really drains your energy. Your shoes and pants are covered in mud... It is very useful to have gaiters to cover your feet. Strong winds are blowing at the summit. My backpack cover was blown away and lost. Some people had their glasses and hats blown away! So make sure to store anything you don't want blown away in your bag. Even with all that trouble, the scenery is breathtaking.
