Sri Satchanalai Historical Park

Si Satchanalai Historical Park covers the areas of Tambon Si Satchanalai, Tambon Sarachit, Tambon Nong O, Tambon Tha Chai. The ancient city of Si Satchanalai is located in the area of ​​Ban Phra Prang. It was originally called Mueang Cheliang, but was later renamed Si Satchanalai during the reign of King Phra Ruang of Sukhothai. He built a new city to replace Mueang Cheliang as the center of government. Within the historical park, there are 125 ancient sites and artifacts, of which 204 have been discovered. These are considered valuable heritages of Sukhothai that you must not miss visiting to see their beauty. It was also registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991, along with Sukhothai and Kamphaeng Phet, as vassal cities of Sukhothai.
