Srinakarin Dam (formerly known as Chao Naen Dam) is the first multi-purpose dam of the Mae Klong River Basin Development Project. It was built on the Kwai Yai River in Ban Chao Naen, Tambon Tha Kradan, Amphoe Si Sawat, Kanchanaburi Province. It blocks the Kwai Yai River and is the 8th of 17 dams built by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to provide various benefits, improve the lives and livelihoods of the people, and promote it as a beautiful tourist attraction. Srinakarin Dam was created to provide benefits to the lives of the people and develop the country. It has now become an important tourist attraction and relaxation spot in Kanchanaburi Province.
