[Siena, Italy] The funnel-shaped Campo Square

#FreeHotelStay Piazza del Campo, located in the center of the Siena Historic Center, a World Heritage Site in Italy, is said to be the most beautiful square in the world. Its shape is also unique, and because it is located on a slope between two hills, the entire square is shaped like a bowl, with a gentle curve toward the center. As it is the square in front of the city hall, not only tourists but also Sienese people sit and relax in the square. The traditional event held in Piazza del Campo is the Palio! It is held twice a summer (July 2nd and August 16th). The Palio is a horse racing festival in which jockeys and horses dressed in medieval costumes run at full speed through Piazza del Campo. I can't help but feel nervous when I think about the danger of horses and knights running at full speed through this bowl-shaped square, but I would like to see it at least once.
