Tips for Spending Time at Changi Airport for Late-Night Flights

This time, I took a late-night flight for my return trip, so here’s a report on my experience! If you’re taking a late-night flight, be mindful of the operating hours. Check ahead and make sure to arrive at the airport early if you have things to do! 📍How to Get to the Famous Waterfall The waterfall is located in Jewel Changi Airport, a shopping center connected to the airport! ⚠️ If you’re taking a taxi, make sure to tell the driver you want to go to "Jewel" instead of the terminal. Once you enter Jewel, you’ll see the waterfall right away! However, note the operating hours of the waterfall. I checked online beforehand and saw it was open until midnight, so I thought I had plenty of time. But when I arrived at Jewel, the waterfall wasn’t running! It turns out the waterfall operates only until 10 PM. 😭 ⚠️ Waterfall hours: 10 AM to 10 PM! If you’re on a late-night flight and want to see the waterfall, make sure to go early! 📍Jewel The shopping mall itself is listed online as being open 24 hours, so I thought I had plenty of time. However, while the mall is open, ⚠️ most stores close at 10 PM. 😂 Most restaurants were also closed, with only McDonald’s and a supermarket still open. 🕰️ Store hours: 10 AM to 10 PM (varies by store) With most stores closed and nothing much to do, I moved to the terminal via the connecting walkway on Jewel’s third floor. 🌟 How to Spend Time After Check-In After check-in, the stores are open! Most stores operate from 🕰️ 6 AM to 1 AM. I visited Bacha Coffee to buy some souvenirs. The staff helped me choose the coffee beans I wanted and even ground them to suit my brewing method. I told them I use a filter at home, and they adjusted the grind accordingly! ⚠️ Takeout is available, but since it was late, all the croissants and other food items were sold out. 😭 If you’re planning to get takeout, drinks are fine, but food might not be available. ⚠️ After check-in, there are very few dining options, so if you’re hungry, it’s better to bring food with you beforehand! ⚠️ At Changi Airport, security checks are conducted right before boarding, so you cannot bring drinks onto the plane! This time, my late-night flight experience turned out to be full of mishaps, but I hope this serves as a helpful reference for anyone taking a late-night flight!
