Peanut Butter Mochi Waffle?! My New Favourite Cheap Snack at AMK

#singaporeguide If you’re ever wandering around AMK Hub and craving something sweet or snacky, I highly recommend checking out Crolo by Swee Heng. It’s a small bakery tucked away but surprisingly full of interesting finds – and the best part is, most of the items are under \$3. Perfect if you're looking for an affordable treat without sacrificing taste. I stumbled upon it on a recent visit when I was just looking for something light before dinner. The smell of freshly baked waffles and pastries literally drew me in. It’s that kind of nostalgic, warm, buttery fragrance that hits you the moment you walk past. Naturally, I had to stop. Their selection is pretty varied – think croissants, waffles, little hand buns – all in different flavors from classic chocolate to more adventurous ones like biscoff or kaya. The waffles really stood out to me because they were freshly made and still warm when handed over. I ended up getting the peanut butter mochi waffle, which sounded like a strange combo at first but totally worked. The waffle was crispy on the outside, not greasy at all, and had this golden-brown crunch that’s just satisfying to bite into. Inside, the mochi layer was chewy and slightly gooey, and the peanut butter added a rich, nutty creaminess that reminded me of peanut tang yuan. It’s not too sweet either – more of a comforting, hearty kind of flavor. For something that cost around \$2.50, it felt like such a steal. What I appreciate about Crolo is that they’re not trying to be fancy. It’s honest, fuss-free bakery food with some creative twists thrown in, and everything feels freshly made. I also saw people picking up their pain au chocolate and some mini croissants, which looked just as good. Next time I’m definitely trying the biscoff croissant – that one seems to be a crowd favorite. If you’re around AMK Hub and need a quick snack or a casual dessert, Crolo is worth popping into. Especially if you're into warm, crispy waffles or buttery pastries that don't cost a bomb.
