Michelin Bib Eatery Zhup Zhup Upsizes Their Bestsellers With Tiger Prawns and Claypot Wok Hei

#summervacay Jumbo Prawns, Wok Hei & That Signature Zhup — We Tried the Upgraded Menu at Zhup Zhup If you're a fan of rich, slurp-worthy broths and smoky noodle dishes, you’ve probably heard of Zhup Zhup — a Michelin Bib Gourmand favourite known for its comforting, prawn-forward dishes. They’ve recently launched jumbo-sized versions of their most popular items, and we dropped by to give them a try. We started with the jumbo prawn hokkien mee, which came served in a sizzling claypot. The thick noodles were stir-fried with intense wok hei and soaked in their signature seafood broth. What stood out immediately was the smoky aroma and the bold, savoury flavour in every bite. The dish came topped with jumbo tiger prawns that were firm and sweet, along with generous slices of tender pork belly. It was rich, satisfying, and great for anyone who loves a strong, full-bodied hokkien mee. Next, we had the jumbo prawn paofan — a slightly more luxurious take on their regular seafood version. The rice was soaked in a warm, umami-packed prawn broth, topped with clams, soft egg floss, and a layer of crispy rice puffs that gave a nice contrast in texture. The broth was comforting and well-balanced, with natural sweetness from the seafood. It struck a good middle ground for those looking for something premium without going all out on the lobster paofan. To round out the meal, we ordered the har cheong gai. The chicken was crunchy outside, juicy inside, and full of that distinct prawn paste flavour that makes this dish so addictive. It paired well with everything else on the table and made a great side to share. Overall, the upgraded menu at Zhup Zhup delivers on what the place already does best — strong broths, wok-kissed flavours, and generous portions. Whether you’re a regular or trying it for the first time, the new jumbo dishes are worth checking out if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent.
