Mural Hunting in the Heartlands

Painted by local artists, these murals serve not only to invigorate the old estate of Ang Mo Kio, but also to relieve some memories of the neighbourhood in the past and showcase our local culture. These murals are mostly painted on the lift shafts, as they make good canvases due to the blank spaces and the heights for room to paint. Some of my favourites include Mona Lisa having a durian feast, the favourite fruit for most of us locals and the macaws in vibrant colours. Most of the murals are located at the town centre near to the Ang Mo Kio Hub shopping mall, but there are also some murals that can be found elsewhere in the area too. #meetsingapore #tripblazers
