Sirindhorn Wararam Temple .. or as the locals originally called it.. Wat Phu Prao, but tourists commonly refer to it as.. the Glowing Temple. .. This temple is located in Chong Mek Subdistrict, Sirindhorn District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. .. The most interesting feature of the temple is .. the back of the ordination hall where the exterior wall features a glowing Bodhi tree artwork, designed by Kunakorn Parinyapunnon. .. The ordination hall is modeled after Wat Xieng Thong in Laos. Each pillar is hand-carved with patterns, with the outer area featuring lotus and various animals according to the four types of lotus. The entrance is adorned with Sala trees, Indian gooseberry trees, and Terminalia trees, with a Bodhi tree at the innermost part. .. Behind the principal Buddha statue in the ordination hall, there is a wooden carving of a Bodhi tree.
