Scenic Area Introduction Tianwangzhai is located in Wangdian Village, Taibaiding Scenic Area, Tongbai Mountain, Suixian County, Suizhou City, Hubei Province. It was built in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, with a history of more than 800 years. It is named after a farmer surnamed Tian who built a village here to resist the Yuan Dynasty and became king. It is the largest and best-preserved ancient military village group in central China, known as the "First Village in Central China." The terrain here is dangerous, easy to defend and difficult to attack. It was once a refuge for the people of the ancient Tongbai Mountain area to avoid war, and also witnessed the battle history of the Red Army. Location and Transportation Tianwangzhai is located in Suixian County, Suizhou City, Hubei Province. Starting from Suizhou City, you can take the Suiyue Expressway, then turn into Niuchen Road to reach the south gate of the scenic area. The scenic area is about 1 hour's drive from Suizhou City. Opening Hours and Tickets • Opening hours: Peak season (March 1 - November 30) 08:00-16:00, off-season (December 1 - February 28) 08:30-15:00. • Ticket price: Adult ticket is 80 yuan/person, student ticket is 40 yuan/person. Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) or under 6 years old (inclusive), and elderly people over 70 years old (inclusive) are free of charge. Attraction Distribution The total area of Tianwangzhai Scenic Area is 657.9 hectares, and the core attractions include: • Ancient Village Wall: It is 12.9 kilometers long, 8 meters high, and 1 meter wide. It is built with stones along the mountain, and still stands firm after years of wind and rain. • City Gates and Buildings: There are seven city gates, including the East Gate, the Great West Gate, and the Small West Gate, as well as facilities such as the "Silver Luan Hall," merchant market, horse drinking pool, tofu shop, mill, barracks, and horse farm. • Natural Landscapes: There are unique landforms such as Yue'er Rock, Drum Platform, and Eagle's Beak, as well as peaks such as Dongxu Peak, Lotus Peak, Xixia Peak, and Feiyun Peak.
