Wat Taphang Ngern

Wat Trapang Ngern is an abandoned ancient site in Sukhothai Historical Park, Tambon Mueang Kao, Amphoe Mueang Sukhothai, Sukhothai Province. There is no evidence of the name Wat Trapang Ngern in the stone inscription. However, in the royal writing of King Rama VI, when he was still the Crown Prince, “Traveling to Phra Ruang City” (1908), there is a message about Trapang Ngern that says, “At the edge of Wat Mahathat on the east side, there is an empty plot of land that is rectangular in shape. On the north and south sides, there is a mound of earth and a moat that connects to the moat of Wat Mahathat as one. On the west side, which is connected to Wat Mahathat, there is a wall but no moat. On the east side, there is a moat. The moats on the north and south sides continue to the moat on the west side. It is believed that the water in Trapang Thong on the east side and Trapang Ngern on the west side will have a way out that allows you to walk into the moat of the temple and the plot that connects to it all the time. #Wat Trapang Ngern Wat Trapang
