I had time to personally feel the historical traces and architectural beauty of the Joseon Dynasty while visiting Hwayangru, Suwon Hwaseong. Hwayangru is a pavilion located on top of the fortress walls, and it was used for defense and observation. The elegant wooden structure and the fortress walls combined to create a unique atmosphere, and the neat structure inside the pavilion and the cityscape beyond the fortress walls were particularly impressive. 📌 Points for solo travelers Recommended activities: Take a leisurely walk around Hwayangnu and admire the details of the castle walls and pavilions Hidden spots: Near the castle walls below Hwayangnu → A great place to take pictures while quietly walking Recommended snacks: Warm citron tea and rice cake set (7,000 won) sold at a nearby traditional teahouse 🚨 Notes The stairs leading up to Hwayangnu are somewhat steep, so wear comfortable shoes Be careful not to disturb other visitors when taking pictures Make sure to throw away trash in the designated areas Hwayangnu is not just a pavilion, but a space where you can feel the defense strategy and architectural beauty of the Joseon Dynasty at the same time, and I was able to spend a leisurely and meaningful time alone.
