Suzhou No. 23 Garden: Chai Garden Chai Garden was built in the late Qing Dynasty. It was the residence garden of the Pan family during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. During the Guangxu period, it was purchased by Chai Anpu from Shangyu and renovated and expanded, and named Chai Garden. ‌‌ The layout of the garden is east house and west garden, with a spacious Yuanyang Hall in the front and a simple Nanmu Hall in the back. There are four garden areas in the garden, with tranquil ponds, relaxing boat halls, ingenious rocks and natural hills and valleys.
