Taicang Cuisine: Retro Tea Restaurant in Rothenburg Style Street

During the holiday, our family drove to Liuhe in Taicang for a visit. The area wasn't too crowded with tourists, making it very relaxing. Strolling along the Liuhe River was truly enjoyable. For dinner, we chose this 80s-style tea restaurant in Rothenburg Style Street, which was quite popular. The menu was surprisingly extensive, offering dim sum, snacks, Cantonese-style stir-fries, as well as various drinks and desserts—plenty of options. ✅ For dim sum, we ordered steamed tofu skin rolls, crispy red rice rolls, durian puff, and rice noodle rolls. Honestly, the quality was just average—the presentation in the photos speaks for itself. One of the tofu skin rolls was burnt, though the taste was passable. The outer layer of the red rice rolls wasn't great and didn't hold its shape well. The rice noodle rolls were decent, and while I didn't try the durian puff, my family had no complaints. ✅ The stir-fried dishes were better than the dim sum. The fermented red bean curd pork knuckle was flavorful, the shrimp with cashew nuts was refreshing, and there was another sizzling plate dish—I forgot the name, maybe Bombay duck fish? It was tasty, crispy outside and tender inside, with good seasoning.
