Vegetarian Restaurant in Taichung: Jiangjinjiu Vegetarian BBQ Hall

【Exaggerated vegetarian barbecue】 My friends all like to eat Korean barbecue, but I can never join in. Does that mean I can’t eat barbecue if I don’t eat meat? A barbecue restaurant specializing in vegetables, called Jiangjinjiu-Vegetarian BBQ Palace, has recently opened in Taichung. It takes a high-end approach, with exquisite decoration and exaggerated plating. It even smokes when served! You can take photos and check in while you go out to eat, and you can also show off your vegetarian barbecue to your friends. The restaurant is located in the West District of Taichung, and there are many specialty restaurants nearby. The environment is quiet and relaxing. The restaurant is called "Jiang Jin Jiu", so some Chinese elements are incorporated into the decoration and layout, and you can see some ancient people's things everywhere XD. I think this projection outside the gate is cute. The restaurant has two floors, and barbecue dining is mainly on the second floor. The menu for the wine is a scroll! This is so exaggerated and fun, I love it! You can pretend that you are the emperor reading memorials, even though you are just choosing meals. The store mainly serves set meals for two or three people, but you can also order a la carte if you come alone. The set meal includes salad, side dishes, vegetarian grilled skewers, seasonal vegetables, white rice, soup and dessert. There are both vegetarian and vegan options. In addition to barbecue sets, the store also offers a series of cooked food, allowing for a richer and more diverse diet. There are two types of salads: "Fried Sesame Oil and Vinegar Salad (Vegetarian)" and "Japanese-style Salad with Soy Sauce and Yuzu". I had the Japanese-style salad with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, etc. I thought the salad dressing was sufficient and both sour and sweet and quite appetizing. There are also two types of soup bowls to choose from, "Pineapple Bitter Melon Soup" and "Gastrodia Cashew Soup". The combination of the two looks very special and not the soup you usually drink. I chose the Gastrodia elata cashew soup, which tastes light and smooth. The skewers and vegetables for the barbecue were served on a plate, and it was smoking when it arrived! There is an atmosphere of traveling through time and space to shoot a costume film. The skewers on the "stairs" are called "Seven Fairies Drinking Song", including: Hong Kong-style barbecued pork, crispy chicken skin, Hakka stir-fried dishes (milk-vegetarian), chicken leg rolls, Xinjiang lamb skewers, three-cup coprinus and kelp squid, most of which are based on vegetarian meat. This series of food are all cooked, mainly heated over fire and roasted before eating. You can ask the store staff to help you with barbecue or do it yourself. I think barbecue is a good way to have something to do while chatting with friends, and you don’t have to worry about the vegetables not being cooked through. The ventilation system in the store is pretty good, and grilling vegetables doesn't produce as much smoke as grilling meat, so when you come here to eat barbecue, you don't have to worry about being covered in smoke after eating. In addition to barbecue, Jiang Jin Jiu also prepares a series of cooked dishes recommended by the chef, which is in line with what Li Bai said, "When life is happy, you should enjoy it to the fullest, and don't let the golden cup face the moon empty~". The single-order dishes and non-alcoholic beer are only NT$69. The dishes include hand rolls, fried foods, and sesame cakes. I really like the spicy chicken steak I had that day. It is not made of vegetarian meat but mushrooms. It is very crispy and tastes just the right amount of spicy.
