Tainan "The First School in Taiwan"

#Taiwan City Attractions The Confucius Temple is also known as the "Wen Temple". The Tainan Confucius Temple is also the earliest Confucian Temple in Taiwan. It was built in the 19th year of the Yongli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1665 AD). It was also the highest government-run institution of higher learning before the late Qing Dynasty, and is therefore known as the "No. 1 University in Taiwan." The buildings are arranged in a "school on the left and temple on the right", with the main building being the temple dedicated to Confucius. Next to the temple is the Minglun Hall, where teachers are hired to recommend talented students. The Confucius Temple has red tiles, red walls and green shades, while the outside is a place for citizens to relax, with children playing, couples taking a walk, and old people playing chess.
