Visit Linji Huguo Chan Temple

Linji Huguo Chan Temple, formerly known as Zhennan Mountain Huguo Linji Temple, also simply referred to as Linji Temple or Huguo Temple, is a Linji sect Buddhist temple located in Yuanshan Village, Zhongshan District, Taipei City. It was founded in 1900 and held its Buddha installation ceremony in 1912. It serves as the main preaching site for the Myoshinji school of the Linji sect. Its Mahavira Hall and the main gate are designated as municipal heritage sites. The Mahavira Hall is still well-preserved today, featuring a wooden structure with a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof. The main gate is built in the style of the Japanese Edo period. Additionally, the large grindstone in front of the temple, the tomb of the temple's founding patriarch behind the temple, and the stone-carved Buddha statues are all of historical and cultural value.
