Taiyuan Ancient County is located in Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It was built in the 8th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1375) and covers an area of about 0.8 square kilometers. It was built on the site of the ancient city of Jinyang and inherited the architectural pattern of the ancient city of Jinyang, "the city pool is like a phoenix", like a phoenix with its head to the north and its tail to the south, so it is also known as Phoenix City. There are many historical buildings in the city, and the cross street pattern is clear. There are 38 cultural relics protection units at all levels, including the Confucian Temple, a national key cultural relics protection unit.
