At 5:30 in the morning, I awoke quietly from my dream and, as if by intuition, opened the electric curtains to reveal the horizon being gently tinged with a soft orange. Barefoot across the gold-woven carpet, I approached the expanse of floor-to-ceiling windows to watch a ray of sunlight pierce through the clouds, awakening Taiyuan. Especially when night falls in all its splendor, the city lights flow like the Milky Way across the mirrored tiles through the misty bathroom. Immersed in the warm bathtub, my fingertips glide across the water's surface, reflecting the gradually illuminating neon lights outside the window. Traffic on the streets weaves into bands of light, and the glass windows refract diamond-like specks of light. Lazy, gentle songs flow from the speakers, as if even time itself is indulging in this private brilliance. The temperature-controlled swimming pool in the afternoon is another secret realm. Sunlight pours down, dyeing the water a crystal-clear blue, like rare blue crystal. During my two-day stay, I came to understand the romance of Taiyuan Kempinski.
