During this trip to Takamatsu, I had the privilege of experiencing the magnificence and charm of Ritsurin Garden firsthand. This garden is not only one of Japan's three great gardens but also a perfect blend of history and nature, which left me deeply impressed. Upon entering Ritsurin Garden, the first thing that caught my eye was the spectacular pine trees. Around 1,400 pine trees shine with vitality under the sunlight. Each tree has its own story, as if telling visitors about the history and culture of this land. Particularly, the 'Crane and Turtle Pine,' symbolizing longevity, with its unique shape, made me stop and appreciate the marvels of nature. The scenery within the garden changes with the seasons, each offering its own unique charm. In spring, 320 cherry blossom trees bloom in unison, with pink petals fluttering in the breeze, creating a dreamy atmosphere. The autumn foliage is equally mesmerizing, with vibrant colors reflecting on the lake, forming a captivating picture. Such beauty not only enchanted me but also made me feel the endless charm of nature. While enjoying matcha at 'Kikugetsutei,' I felt an indescribable sense of tranquility. Sitting in the ancient teahouse, surrounded by lakes and mountains, I forgot the hustle and bustle of the outside world, and my mind was truly at ease. This sense of serenity was the greatest reward of my trip. The uniqueness of Ritsurin Garden lies not only in its natural beauty but also in the culture and history it carries. Carefully maintained by generations, it has become a sanctuary for people's souls. Every building and every scene tells stories of the past, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese history and culture while appreciating the scenery.
