Japan Travel｜2-Day Hokuriku Itinerary in Toyama and Takaoka

Toyama, the core city of the Hokuriku region, offers a view of snow-capped mountains in winter, retains ground-level trams 🚃, and boasts various art museums, glassware shops, and delicious seafood sweet shrimp sushi 🍣. Takaoka is the hometown of Doraemon, a must-visit for fans of the blue robot cat, and the Takaoka Daibutsu, one of Japan's three great Buddhas, is a classic attraction. Accommodation 🛏️: Hilton in front of the station Itinerary 🗺️: Day 1: Toyama Castle - Glass Art Museum - Toyama Art Museum Day 2: Toyama Station - Takaoka Station - Amaharashi Beach - Takaoka Daibutsu - Takaoka Castle Ruins - Fujiko F. Fujio Memorial Museum Attractions: Toyama Castle 🏯: You can climb the castle tower, which is highly recommended. Inside, there are many displays of samurai armor and swords. The entrance is a racetrack, reportedly used for local coming-of-age ceremonies and weddings. Glass Art Museum 💎: I never expected glass to be so beautiful before visiting. It was a mind-blowing experience. The museum also has many interactive installations, including making glass bead bracelets. Toyama Art Museum 🖼️: There is a bus from the Glass Art Museum entrance, but check the schedule. If there is no bus, you can walk from Toyama Station 😠. Be sure to visit the rooftop, where the interactive installations are fascinating. I could daydream on the mushroom hammock 🍄 until sunset. Takaoka - Amaharashi 🚂: To get to Amaharashi Beach, you need to transfer at Takaoka Station. The coastline there is beautiful and worth a visit. You can also go directly to Himi for fresh seafood 😋. Takaoka Daibutsu ⛩️: You can see it right at the temple entrance. There is a Buddha-themed café nearby, where you can enjoy Buddha head dorayaki. Takaoka Castle Ruins ⛲️: A short walk away, it is a central oasis perfect for relaxation. Fujiko F. Fujio Memorial Museum: A must-visit for Doraemon fans. You can navigate there. Inside, you can see the earliest storyboards and Doraemon's mini-theater. I bought a lot of Doraemon merchandise. Photography is not allowed inside, so be careful‼️ If you love art, don't miss this place. It's small but truly amazing.
