To the gods of Kumano for spiritual purification and regeneration 📍Kumano Hongu Taisha Located in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, it is the head shrine of the approximately 3,000 Kumano shrines in Japan, and is known as one of the Kumano Sanzan. 📕Its history is long, and since the Heian period, many people have come to worship as "Kumano pilgrimages". It was once enshrined in Oyunohara, at the confluence of the Kumano River and the Otonashi River, but was moved to its current location due to a major flood in 1889. ⛩️The grounds are surrounded by a solemn atmosphere and abundant nature, providing visitors with a place for spiritual purification and regeneration.
