Te Anau is the perfect stop on the way to Milford Sound—not just because you have to pass through it when driving from Queenstown, but because it’s such a cute little town worth exploring. Sitting right on the edge of Lake Te Anau, it has a relaxed vibe, great cafes, and stunning views. It’s the ideal place to grab a coffee, stretch your legs, and take in the scenery before continuing the drive through Fiordland National Park. Definitely a spot worth spending some time in!
