Tiger Cave Temple

Wat Tham Suea was founded in 1971 by Phra Khru Sitthiwimol. Inside the temple, there is a large Buddha statue in the blessing posture enshrined on a hill, along with a Thai-style octagonal chapel decorated with beautiful patterns and a 69-meter-high and 29-meter-wide Kesa Kaew Maha Prasat pagoda. From the hill, you can see a beautiful view of the lake and the Vajiralongkorn Dam. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the raising of the gable on October 5, 1983. In addition to stairs, there is also an electric tram service to go up the hill. Wat Tham Suea is open to tourists and the public to visit and pay homage to the sacred objects every day (Monday-Friday from 07.30 - 16.30 hrs.) (Saturday-Sunday from 07.00 - 17.30 hrs.). The electric tram fare is 10 baht for Thais and 20 baht for foreigners. Located in Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi Province. Things that catch the eyes of tourists who come to visit the temple To pay homage to the chedi is the largeness of the temple and the largest Buddha image in the blessing posture in Kanchanaburi Province. The Buddha image is beautiful and decorated with golden mosaics all over. When you arrive at the top, you will find the freshness of the wind that blows cool and strong. Looking down, you will see the green rice fields. There is also the Kesa Kaew Prasat Chedi, the entire chedi is brick-colored and is divided into several levels. Each level enshrines many Buddha images, up to the top level where the relics of the Lord Buddha were enshrined from India. There are also various temples where you can go in to pay homage to the Buddha image and admire the beauty of the mural paintings inside. When you have seen everything, go down to the Tiger Cave, a small cave at the foot of the mountain below. Inside, there is the Buddha image of the day of birth and sacred objects for sale.
